Let the School Year Begin!

This is an exciting time of year because Cody started Kindergarten and Shelby started Mom's Day Out three times a week! Cody was so excited about starting "Big School"; the last two weeks of summer seemed like the longest! He loves going to school and enjoys his teacher and classmates. Shelby started MDO two weeks after Cody; every day we dropped Cody off at school she would ask if she was going to her school now! When she saw all her friends at school from last year she ran right into the classroom and started playing! She loves her new teacher, too. The second day of school she was already spotlighting her independence. She wanted her Cheetos from her lunch box at snack time and her teacher told her to wait until lunch, that they would have a snack soon. Well, teacher went into the bathroom to help another student and when she came out Shelby was under the table...eating her Cheetos! Naturally, would we expect anything else from Shelby?!?! Enjoy these pictures from the kids' first day of school and one of Shelby with her best buddy, John Curtis.

...and Ethan makes Five!

Well, we've officially changed our blog to the "Fentress Family Five"! As of August 11 we've added a new member to our family, Ethan Rodney Fentress. Ethan weighed in at a hefty 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. He is named after his Papaw whose middle name is also Rodney (Papaw's just a little proud!). Below are pictures of Ethan with Dustin, Roxanne, and Big Brother Cody and Big Sister Shelby. Ethan looks a lot like Cody did when he was a baby, which Cody loves! He hopes they look just alike! Shelby loves her baby brother and showers him with kisses and hugs every day. We are blessed to have three healthy, happy children and thank God every day for our wonderful family!

Happy New Year...Finally!

Well I guess since it's now the middle of January it's time to update the blog! Sorry that I don't have any pictures to attach right now. Things have been very crazy around here since the new year arrived. We spent a week in The Woodlands with Dustin's brother and his family and when we returned home we hit the ground running! Dustin started back to work, Cody headed back to school and Shelby and I began our routine again, too. This last week I spent home with the flu. Yuck! Fortunately, we are all well again and ready to finish up January and get ready for February. Cody is looking forward to t-ball tryouts and starting soccer this spring. And Shelby's second birthday will be here before we know it! It looks to be a busy, but fun, time of year!
